New Video Card For Mum

Mum has asked me 2 get her a new video card for her computer so my brother can play a game called "Battle for Middle Earth 2". This game requires a card better than a "Geforce3 (64mb)" except a few non supported cards lik the current one we own, Geforece 4 mx440. So could u guys help me select a new grahpics card as i dont trust myself to spend mums money when i dont fully understand if i can put pci cards into the pci expansion slots and what video card interfaces i can get.

I was thinking of maybe a Geforce 6600 256mb (pci or agp?) or FX 5500.

That is comptaible with the mobo? Wat about the same one except 256 instead on 512 a lot cheaper. That a bad idea?

Ok i actually want a something from the 6800 series so it can play Oblivion resonably well unless the 6600 is ok for running Oblvion.

Well mum is paying so i think she i willing to pay for a 6800 one of the cheaper ones. Its hard cos im in NZ and we have different currencies.

-2.4ghz cpu
-512 ram
-Geforce 4 Mx440
-ECS P4VXAD Mobo

6800 GS is pretty sweet it works well and not to expensive

you said you're going to play oblivion, you know that game a pretty demanding game, 6600 series wouldn't do crap and at least you need 6800 and if you have money you can get the 7800gs of the x800xt pe
