Didn't work. Now when I boot, I get an error.
I went into the recovery console of Windows 2000, and typed in Fixboot; that didn't work.
When I type in fixmbr, it says;
----------------------------
** CAUTION **
This computer appears to have a non-standard or invalid master boot record.
FIXMBR may damage your partition tables if you proceed.
This could cause all the partitions on the current hard disk to become inaccessible.
If you are not having problems accessing your drive (I am having problems), do not continue.
Are you sure you want to write a new MBR?
----------------------------
So should I go ahead with it? Is there a chance that I lose the data, because there are some files on here that I seriously don't want to lose. Is this alert normal?
