deleting start menu reference

Hello

can you guys tell me how to delete a start menu option.

i recently installed a program which appeared when i do the following

Start --> All programs --> myprog 1.1.

i have uninstalled it, however i can still see the reference when i do

Start --> All programs --> myprog 1.1. --> (Empty)

can you guys tell me how to get rid of this reference

right click start menu. click open and check programs folder. if not there right click start again and click open for all users.
