disconnecting during steam gameplay...timeout

it seems to happen with every game (although ive only played steam games) and when it disconnects i am not connected to anything at all, my aim, firefox and game all freeze up. It it only momentary though only lasts about 10 seconds...


side not: is there a way to check my network activity over a period of time?? and also is there a way to chck if it disconnects the LAN too?? if so then i could narrow it down and rule out both problems with the modem, the internet connection and the isp.

You may also try switching out your ethernet cable and adapter for known working one. I'll see what else I can come up with, as of now that's what I want you to try.

also might it be something with the router? like a setting in DHCP or something?? i did a little tooling around but i couldnt really find anything maybe theres something im not seeing tho??

There should be a LAN setting to enable or disable DHCP in your router.
