Anybody please help. slow computer

My computer seems to be slower. Like I'll click on the defrag function, and it thinks about it for 15 - 20 seconds before the dialog box comes on the same happen when I am running Word or open the internet.

We got the computer in Dec 2003 so it's hardly ancient. We play lots and lots of games on it...I think I heard that can mess up the computer?

I spoke to a friend and he asked me to run a full test on a site named mypccenter.com

I did it and send him the report and he could not find the problem .

Anybody please help.

Looks sound, doesn't look like your running any antivirus? is that the case?

for a general spring clean which might well help your performance I suggest CCleaner, get it from www.majorgeeks.com
and you really ought to defrag that hdd.

Try an online scan from trend micro (google trend micro housecall)

Thanks MrCoffee but i had an antivirus and i uninstalled it while trying to find the reason for the problem - so i don't think the fact that i donÂ’t have AV is the reason for the slow machine

how many programs do you have starting up?

Nothing special something from Creative that related to the sound card, and the basic system stuff... you can see in the link below all the running processes on my machine.
