somebody help me with this XP!

probs with XP (yes i know, whats new)

1. streaming video is terribly slow
2. can see the pictures on quicktime
3. cant download firefox or install it


i am using acer laptop and have all the acer management/security and such stuff installed

How many programs do you have running in the background.
"icons on the right side task bar" If you have a lot of icons you have a lot of programs running. As for FireFox I wouldn't bother. I've tried it a few times its not worth the waste of time. I know everybody says its the best thing since sliced bread but that's a load of crap. You can go to start , run,type msconfig go to start up open that tab and you can shut down things you don't need running all the time. like quick time office reminder scanner software, all that crap but you need to be careful and leave the main things running.
