Removable CD-ROM drive question.

I just bought a Fujitsu Lifebook 435Dx laptop at a garage sale. It apparently came with a removable floppy and CD-ROM when new. When I got it, the CD drive is missing. I am having a hard time finding one on Ebay, and so I'm wondering if CD-ROM's from other models might fit and work in this. The part number I supposedly need is FPCCD02.

it is possible another model drive may work but you may need an adapter both to install and connect it

You have to find out what system the laptop uses for swapping.
Many laptops use the same "hot swap" system so you can cross-swap drives. The problem is that new formats seem to be popping up constantly.

Some drives are bolted on and look swappable but are not, and this is true with many old laptops....
