I have an opportunity to buy a damaged laptop for cheap. It is an Acer Aspire from about 2 years ago (originally about $1500 from what I can tell), available to me for $100. Here is the problem with it:
Apparently, it went through a power outage. After the outage, it tries to boot but won't. I think this could be as simple as a BIOS reset, making the purchase a steal, or as complicated and expensive as a fried motherboard and processor.
Based on that behavior (tries to boot, but never gets there), can anyone suggest possible problems or rule out any? Is this worth going for, perhaps to sell for parts? Or are too many of them possibly fried?
I appreciate any advice. Thanks!
