I/O Shield/Case

Hi, I just tried to install my I/O Shield into a 10 year old case (Dell XPS T450) and i couldnt fit my shield in! Now im sure this is the cases fault, as my shield is from a very recent MoBo and measures 48mm (width) by 161mm (length). Would this I/O Shield fit into a recent ATX case (e.g. this one: http://www.thermaltake.com/product/Chassis/midtower/mambo/vc2000bns.asp )?

yes it should, as long as it's not bent or anything form trying to cram it in your old case...

So all I/O Shields should fit any standard ATX cases?

As long as BOTH the case and the shield are ATX form factor, you shouldn't have a problem.

As long as you pick a case that is the same form factor as your motherboard/shield it should work fine.

Well the MoBo says:
Form Factor

ATX form factor; 30.5cm x 21.5cm
And the case says fits standard ATX motherboard, so that should be ok. Im just double checking because I dont want to get the wrong case!

jsut be careful, the metal on tehsides of the IO brackets are SHARP.. I have a permanent scar from trying to install one of them.
