Ok well time for some learning. First of all how can it be the same as a 6600GT w/ 4 pipes anyways when the 6600GT has 8? Why would a card have support for SM3.0 if it sucks so bad? Lets look at the facts.
9800XT has 8pipes and 256bit DDR
6600GT has 8 pipes and 128bit GDDR3
X1600pro has 12pipes and 128bit GDDR2

The 6600GT is a little better than the 9800XT whereas the X1600pro has support for SM3, adaptive AA, and 12 pipes, 4 over the 6600GT. The only thing the 6600GT has going for it is GDDR3 and that is only 128mb of it. ITs more along the lines of an X800pro so to say or a befed up version of the 9800XT. I recomend the X1600pro so much because it has support for everything a modern gamer needs and its really cheap. The HIS version of it has a huge HSF which you can OC really good w/.

Then why the **** are people saying in some posts a 1600 has only 4 REAL pipes with a simulated 16. WTF! I will agree that a x1600pro > 6600gt but a x1600xt = 6800. A 9800xt > than a 6800. Yes x1600 has all the support but because its still not THAT fast it sort of doesnt matter. Its like performance vs quailty.

Just for example to get this out of my system. My x800 gto doesnt have all that eye candy and stuff the newer x1600 does but I will get better frame rates and it wont look AS good. If they still made 6800's and were easily available, we could have easily told him what to get. **** Nvidia.

Well I remember someone saying to me when I was looking to buy a video card that the 1600 series has 16 faked pipes where it turns 4 true pipes into 16 and that its about equal to a 6600gt but for sure I dont know.

I find it quite funny that you cant even remember what you said. But seriously i dont even know WTF your trying to really say here. An C1600XT is a whole lot better than a 6800 because a 6800 has only 12 pipes where as the X1600XT should have 16. The X1600PRO is better than a 6600GT because it has 12 pipes and the 6600GT has 8. A 6800 is better than a 9800XT because of GDDR3 and 4 more pipes. Also i DOUBT your X800 gets more frams than an X1600pro but if it was true its only because it dosent have to handle all the good eye candy the X1600pro has to do.

I may have said the x1600pro is better than a 6600gt by a small margin and hey spec wise my x800gto > 6800gt but hey according to you its not so I didnt knw for sure. And I just looked at benchies and peoples opinion with both cards and they said x1600 has better graphics than the x800gto but lower framerates and were not satisfied with it.

Ive dealt w/ all hardware talked about except a vanilla 6800. Thats the only reason im arguing this point. Of course the X800gto is going to have better frame rates because it dosent have to deal w/ all that new technology. You turn all the eye candy off w/ the X1600pro then see what it does.
