Compaq fp5315

I have a 3 year old cp fp5315 monitor that wont turn on the gree light comes on and the screen blinks but wont show a picture is there a way to fix this our is the monitor dead?

You say the screen blinks...what do you see? Does an image briefly appear...or is there a message?

When i turn the monitor on the green light blinks and the screen flashes just a sort of white flicker
