I'm sonn going to replace the stock heatsink/fan I got with my X2 4400+. I've read that the XP-90 is best. I've also heard that I should get a 92mm fan for it also. Do I really need this fan?

get teh big typhoon, i got the 3800 overclocked at 2.8 ghz with a 120mm fan, i got a stronger one than the stock fan.

My personal recommendation is the Zalman 9500, but that new Thermaltake heatsink looks crazy. You might want to check that out (it's in a recent thread on this forum).

Edit: Here: http://www.frozencpu.com/cpu-tta-25.html?id=KEN2c5qW
that's the one I have.
I put 2 x 120mm fans on it, and my Sempron 2800+ (overclocked) gets 28ºC max (at 100% load, 24/7. I run folding@home on this thing)

Why? Having a big copper heatsink drops your temperatures darastically, sometimes even close to watercooling temperatures. (except WC temps are never accurate, but neither is air temps :p).

The issue is installing them and the stress they put on your CPU. Killed two CPU with my thermaltake tower heatsink, one RMA'd the other was a OEM, so 300 dollars down the drain :(
