DVD Burn Failure

basically, it's for returning the drive

go back to nero 6 because 7 is a piece of junk. try some other burning software and if that fails then go ahead and RMA it.

Have tried Roxio 8, still not working.
The drive now fails to open on most occasions, and also fails to recognise any media!
Highly annoying, as it was purchased mid June 3005!!

I am at a wits end due to full HDDs for over 6 weeks....any help apprecaited.......I have since replaced DVD burner with an new model, again Philips, and although a year newer it is very little different!!
Although I have burnt 1 DVD with Roxio and updated firmware, it takes the PC about 5 minutes to read any CD or DVD........is this problem PC or drive related?
