Mouse rate

Yes, so... let's put it this way:

Old optical connected by USB: 125Hz average
Old optical with USB>PS/2 adapter: 137Hz average
Old PS/2 ball mouse: 166Hz average
Modern basic optical PS/2 mouse: 200Hz average
Modern high end optical USB mouse: 500Hz average

I just read that the default Windows drivers for USB mouse only allows 125Hz. So you are getting higher rates because you have some Logitech drivers installed, I guess.

actually, I haven't installed any drivers for my G5. just plugged it in and Windows auto-detected it.

but anyway, I tried that USB refresh rate tool, and I put it to 1000HZ.
my Microsoft mouse now gets a lot higher, sometimes slightly over 1000

it's a fair bit more accurate now, but I still like the feel of my G5 better

so, as far as i understand, mouse rates are better with PS/2?

but TheMajor did post a tool you can use to set the USB refresh rate much higher

I just tested this on my Logitech G7. The average jumped around 400-500Hz a good bit.

I got 1500Hz once and many over 1000. How reliable is this program?
