processor

i talked to a guy at micro center and he told that i can upgrade the processor in my laptop. is this true? is there anyway to find out? i hve a compaq evo n610c 1.8ghz p4 mobile, thats all i know about the processor, i have no idea about the motherboard.
i want to upgrade as far as it it can go because i will not be buying a new computer soon as in couple of years.

I think the highest you can buy is 2.16 which is not worth the $450 they charge for it.

You can upgrade laptops, but its cheaper to do yourself....or wait until prices fall.

Most economical is to swapout the mini-pci wifi card or hard-drive....
