Annoying sounds

Someone tell me how to turn off these HORRIFIC startup and shutdown sounds. They are bugging the CRAP out of me. I've tried Control Panel -> Sounds, but I set it to no sounds, and now it just doesn't play log on/log off sounds. Thats a start.

I already disabled the Welcome Screen, it still makes the sounds.

Oh, and how do I totally get rid of these nasty XP themes? I want to uninstall them so they don't show on the login window.

I don't think you can "get ride of them" unless you start deleating random files out of the system32 folder.

WindowsBlinds has "themepacks" where you can change the look and feel of windows as well as it's defualt sounds.

I just need to find the files and delete them. That should take care of it.

Start > Settings > Control Panel > Sound and Audio Devices > Sounds > Find "Exit Windows, Start Windows", change to None".
