What's your best overclock?

Just wondering what everyone's most successful overclock was.


I'm a newbie to overclocking, so I started with something small...

Had a Pentium II 333MHz Deuchetes Slot 1, with 66MHz FSB, 5x multiplier.

I overclocked the FSB to 100MHz with the tape trick on one of the processor pins. It now runs at 500MHz, stable with an 80mm fan stuck to it.

I also overclocked the S3VirgeDx on the same system, but I can't remeber the before and after clock speeds.

See signature. Stock heatsink and fan. Hottest it ever got was 44C while I was encoding. Idles at 30-32C depending on the ambient temperature in my room.

How did you get that high? I hit 2.6 and it wouldn't boot.

2.8GHz with the Opty 165 and 2.8GHz (bootable only) on my 35w 2400+ XP-Mobile.

2.85Ghz with an Opty 170, stable. Once, next time i tried it failed Superpi

Yeah and a 3200+ @ 2.7Ghz nothing special lol.

Best i got was 2.24Ghz with my Sempron 2600+ (1.6Ghz stock) I know i could get it up more with a better board and ram.

My highest that I ever got was 3.015GHz. That wasn't stable at all. The highest stable clock that I'm able to achieve at the moment is 2.84GHz due to cheap value ram.

Intel P4 3.0Ghz to a 3.4GHz
