system memory

I am planning on upgrading my system and i am going to go with all new memory. I am only getting 1 gig for now because i am getting a lot of other stuff and i kinda have a budget. But anyways when i do get the memory for my system, should i go with 1x1gig stick or 2x512mb sticks. Any imput would be great because i am planning to make this purchase soon.

It really depends on whether or not your motherboard supports dual channel RAM.

If it does, you might as well get 2x512, as it will give you a few % increase in performance. Otherwise, get whatever is cheaper

it really doesnt matter... i would go with 1 stick if u only have 2 slots, just incase u wanna go to 2gb.. if u have 4 then i would go with 2 sticks..

It really wont make a difference between 1gb and 2x512

If it supports dual channel then yes get 2x512mb instead of 1 x 1gb.
