Can someone with an extensive knowledge of video cards give me a good list of worst to best video cards starting with the nvidia ti4200. I am not asking if ATI or Nvidia is better, but rather a list for a buyer like myself to look at it and compare cards to cards. No bias information pls. In the market today I am asuming a nvidia 5900 = ati 9800.

For example

5950 ultra / 9800 XT
5900 / 9800
5700 / 9600
and so on...

Something on the lines of that but much more cards and versions of each card (XT, pro, ultra).

Thanks in advance

nvidia geforce ti4200-4600 / ATI Radeon 9500 Pro

nvidia geforce fx 5200 ultra / ATI Radeon 9500 Pro

nvidia geforce fx 5600/5700 ultra / ATI Radeon 9600 Pro/XT

nvidia geforce fx 5900 ultra / Ati Radeon 9700 Pro/XT

nvidia geforce fx 5900/5950 ultra / Ati Radeon 9800 Pro/XT

Those are pretty much the best matchups i can come up with.

Im not for sure about that geforce4 ti4200-4600, but that may be correct, and i am also not for sure about that fx 5200 ultra, but that should be true also.....

Anyways, hope this helps!

Well one question I was concered with was that on newegg I saw that the 5900XT was like $50 cheaper than the 5900. And I always thought that XT was like the top dog of the version. It has been with ATI anyways.

What would you reccomend for a $200 vid card?

I was looking at 5900XT/9800Pro/5900SE

All those seem to be around $200. And where does the SE stand in those? It seems to be the same price as the XT. And just the plain 5900 seems to be $50 more expensive than them all.

Hmm, well I've never heard of the XT moniker on a Nvidia brand so can't help you there, but I can tell that the 9800 Pro is the best of those you mentioned;) The SE is a budget model, it runs on half the pipelines and abit slower memory, you'll get much better performance if you go with the Pro;) And unless that 5900 is an Ultra than it's not much competition for the 9800 Pro either:confused:
