I also have a Dell that I was thinking about taking everything out of it and putting it in the gateway and build this one in to the ultimite gameing, movie, everything PC would that work?
If I was to go that route then I would have to gradually buy things for it tell it was finally completed that way it would be "TOP OF THE LINE" AND IT HAS:
Windows XP Home Edition, Pentium 4 w/ 1.70 GHz and 256 MB of Ram the only upgrad I would like to do is more Ram and maybe mor GHz. is that possable?

The 1.7 ghz processor has a 400mhz FSB so you will be limited. You need to upgrade the processor to gain more ghz, but more ghz isnt always better. AMD has a chip that runs at 1.8ghz and competes with a p4 3.0 ghz. Do some research on these forums. You will learn alot.
