Summary of the good points:

1. Tighten all the screws/mounts in u'r case.
2. insulate with accustic dampening mat'l
3. replace intake/exaust w/ quite 120mm fans
4. replace cpu+gpu hs/f w/ liquid cooling

results in near silence.

@ WorldIndustries: What size is the fan on a normal stock CPU? I got my X2 4400+ a few weeks back, and it idles at around 40C or a little below, stock HSF. What is a good fan to replace it with?

Also I was looking at replacing a few fans myself. My X-Blade case with blue LEDs has always been a little loud. Thanks for the links guys.
on my CPU (Sempron 2800+ overclocked) I have a Thermaltake Silent Boost, with a 120mm cooler master fan on it.
the thing never gets above 32ºC. most of the time it sits around 23ºC.
plus, it's near silent.

Normal stock Intel CPU's are usually 60mm, if you're lucky it might be an 80mm. Most stock AMD fans are 80mm, I believe. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

And actually, lately I've heard that SilenX really aren't that good. They have false dB ratings...
