So I am putting together a new rig for my friend. Using a few things from his old comp such as DVR/W and floppy. Just wanted to see if anyone had built anything with this MOBO, CPU, MEM, and if so if they had any problems. He doesn't game but he likes descent stuff. The kind of guy that drops 3 grand on his surround sound and watches a movie a month. I wanted to get fairly nice stuff but keep it within reason for a non-gamer. Thanks for any input.

Very nice, seems like the best bang for the buck I've seen in a while, I use the 939 version of the proc, and its bloody brilliant! Well worth it. Have fun!

Point taken....just have to make sure he doesn't have anything on floppy that he needs. So I take it I made descent choices on the parts? Really wasn't sure with the vid card. Wanted something descent that could run good resolutions on his monitor.....

Just for to be complete wanted everyone to know that I got this rig together without a hitch. (once I pulgged the four pin ATX power connector in :) ). The parts all went together fine though I did have to go in and set the memory to ddr800 manually. Other than that, everything works great. Very fast machine with lots of room to move inside the case. The monitor looks amazing. I did end up putting my old SB audgy 2zs card in because no matter what I did, I could not get the onboard audio to work.

i would revise the processor, unless of course when AM2 version of the 4200+ came out, they doubled the cache.

Just copy and paste the item number into the newegg search. As for the revise thing, I have no idea what you are talking about. Just look the processor up at newegg the same way. What do you mean?

k 1 sec, yeah its just as i thought, the AM2 3800+, 4200+, and 4600+ still have half the cache of the 4400, and 4800, and the fxs. if ur gonna buy one that has that low cache, might as well go with the 3800+ and save urself some dough.
