USB not recognizing Camera, Ipod

After every single restart my compuer recognizes my ipod, digital camera and what ever once and only once. As soon as i plug anything into the usb port again, it doesnt recognize it. So then i have to restart my comp again before i can update my ipod. (A real pain). If any body has any suggestions or knows how to fix this USB problem let me know please!

Reinstall the drivers, thats all i can suggest, im not sure what the problem can be other than that, or that the ports are buggered... that might be unlikely as they recognise them at startup
