FORGET THE NAMES YOU KNOW FROM AIRCOOLING!!!!!!!

thermaltake, zalman, gigabyte etc specialise in air cooling not watercooling. they only offer watercooling as another way to make a buck for themselves. do some research into well known watercooling manufacturers like dangerden, swiftech, asetek and silverprop.

in my opinion swiftech are the best, check out the storm waterblock.

In the US you can buy a water cooling parts for really cheap, so why waste money on a kit when you can get a custom one that is better for very little more. How ever in the UK, watercooling is expensive and I was bored so bought a Tt Bigwater SE. It is not a bad kit, it is just limited by a weak pump, and the radiator is not meant to be very good.

Dont worry I'm in the same boat. That stupid kit was the first 'watercooling' I ever owned. I still have it all, it's just in a box somewhere. Even had bought a second radiator with it.

But yeah, the thing that fooled me in the beginning when I was a noob was idiots saying "Yeah the bigwater is a good starter kit"

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS "A GOOD STARTER KIT"

You either do water cooling full force or not at all. What do you do with the bigwater? It comes in pieces, you gotta hook it up, fill it with water, you do the exact same crap with an "Official" watercooling setup.

Point is, if you're gonna watercool do it right or just not at all.

^To above, alright then, I can get almost all the swiftech models of water cooling, don't think there are danger den's here but even if there are i wouldn't know how to compile a good water cooling kit out of little parts (like buying the pump seperatly etc)

as a guy who is also interested in this area of cooling (and failry new to it aswell), could you hint me a little? which pre-made kits of swiftech you recommend? (I want something that will look nice in a UV-enlighted case [full of UV lights, lol]) and that will do the job cooling the hottest prescott out there (I own one, sadly )

I really don't know of the swiftech kits.....I mean I know OF them, but I haven't really looked at any of them.

You mainly want to get something thats:
Impingement style block
1/2" Tubing
Copper ONLY in your loop. Only other acceptable metal is brass. Stay away from aluminum.
D5 pump or AquaXtreme 50z if you can find one of those.

just keep in mind that the cooling is the most important factor, don't sacrifice performance for looks like some people would.

Nubius' last post is pretty good. impingement style blocks work very well and the best example is the Storm. impingement style blocks work best when you have 1/2" tubing and a relatively high flow level
