VGA for AMD 4800

CPU : AMD 4800+ Dual Core
MOBO : Epox 9npa ultra
VGA : ???
MEMORY : 2X1GB RAM
HD : 250 GB SATA
PSU : 500W



Only the VGA is kinda missing... my budget is between 200 and 300 $

purpose : HARDCORE GAMING ( I don't want to OC though )


i am no techie expert and dont know much about VGAs...
what vga would you advice me to get from this rig ?

i was thinking : Radeon X1800XL


I want to play Oblivion , FEAR, Far Cry , DOOM 3 at maximum rez with no problem

7900GT, without a doubt, insane benchmarks (in some games as good as the 512mb 7900GTX), 24 pipes, option for SLi at a later date.

I have one, and it doesn't fail to disappoint, my system runs everything sweet as a nut on max settings.

By the way, if you havn't purchased it already, do not get the AMD x2 4800+, get the 4400+, much better value for money.

well many people been having problems with that card .. that scares me .
im not in the US and i'll be shipping from there .. so in case smthg goes wrong it'll be a b%#$h to send back a

Nope actually the AMD FX-60 would be classed as the bomb

The 4400+ would show almost no difference in performance against the 4800+, and will free up some cash too

4400+ 2x 1gig RAM and a 7900GT will own any game on max settings, take it from me, I have that setup

It beats it in most cases. Its a perfect Contender, 24 pipes and all, but for an insane price, and can oc to 7900 GTX speeds with a simple simple pen volt mod.

7900gt is about equivalent to a 7800gtx, which is a lot better than the 7800gt which is about equivalent to the x1800xl .....

4800+ is good but if its a lot more expensive than the 4400+ then just go for 4400+...
