couldnt get a rev 304 after all anyway. but Not for gamers with 3x pcie x16?? dual graphis + one physics... anyway i guess not so ocable and no sli.

Im getting the Asus P5ND2-SLI instead...then dropping both it and the cpu for conroe and another board ... probably once conroe is available and a few more revisions come out for the new conroe mobos.

What do you guys think of the performance between 7800gtx and 7900gt. I can get a gtx for 20$ cheaper.

pentium d 805 $150
WD 7200 250GB 16MB 3gb/s $100
Antec TruePower 2.0 550W Power Supply $110
G.Skill 2x512 ddr2 800 200$
Antec Super Lanboy $110
ASUS P5ND2-SLI Motherboard $110
Asus 7800gtx $220

Total: $1000

Crazy PC for $1000 no?

7900gt out performs the 7800GTX .....spend the $20!! BTW 7900gt's can be had on newegg for $259 after rebate!!! And....as I said, PCIe Sli on that intel board is only 8x. DFi and Asus build dual 16x pcie SLI. But Sli is a waste of money anyway!!! Intel mOBO'S>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>NOT FOR GAMERS!!!!!

check out what ive got now... i think thats close to what im going to order this weekend... any reason not to order it..given im dropping in conroe and new mobo in a few months (3-4?) and then a new r600 once dx10 is out (6-8 months?).

Seems like a good plan to me.

jncs.com, buy your rev.304 board there. and fugger did not get his conroe to 4.99 it was team japan, and they have gone higher.

I have the hacked drivers for running SLi on Intel chipsets, so yes there is a way.

Hope that clears somethings up. And go for a 830 or 820 they might overclock better and probably would help with performance until you get you conroe.

Wow, that was a pretty unfactual post. Intel mobos PCIe slots run at 8x because thats all the bandwidth a PCIe card needs, they only way bandwith could hurt a PCIe card would be if it was only 2x. And Intel mobos are great for gaming, lots of overclock options and they look good. This has just been a stereotype Intel has gotten for only being for work purposes, this is not true.

Also 7900GTs are cheaper than that.

yeah i kind of took his comments with a grain of salt... anyway it looks like i could opt for a x1900aiw...48 shaders very tempting as i like image quality... and same price as 7800gtx...

some reviews i saw compared performance of x1900 AIW almost identical to 7800gtx 256 except in opengl 2.0. And the AIW crushes nvidia cards in sm3 apps...it seems.

7800gtx?AIW x1900? 7900gt? all relatively same price for me....
