I'm trying to create a dual booting system with Windows 2000 Pro and XP Pro. I installed 2000 and then a preconfigured Windows 2000 image, followed by XP and everything works fine. Unfortunately, when I load the XP image, I can get to the login screen and log in, but then nothing else loads besides a blank screen. The image by itself works fine but while loaded with 2000 it does not.

Any suggestions/has this happened to anyone else?

First, I partioned the 80GB HDD into two sections, C: being 35GB and D: being the remainder. On C: (Primary) I installed Windows 2000 and a pre-tested, working Windows 2000 image. I then installed Windows XP on D: (Logical) and everything worked fine as well. Then when I installed a pre-tested, working Windows XP image, I can only go as far as logging in. After that I only see a blank screen and nothing further loads. I can, though, boot into XP safe mode.

I think it might have something to do with how the image is mounted...have you tried installing xp from scratch instead of the image?
