i recently bought a new computer and when ever it starts up System Preperation Tool 2.0 starts up.

i was wondering what this does and how i can stop it from starting up

thankyou

Start -> Run -=> type msconfig -> System Configuration Utility -> start up -> then find in the start up item if the System Pre tool in there , just untick it and restart you comp , i think this will work , not sure but u can try

Isnt there an option within the programme that lets you say whether or not you want it starting on startup? there should be if it isnt in ms config.

Also if you dont need the programme id just uninstall it, wont come up agian then will it!

Just got this off google:
You can use the System Preparation tool to perform the following tasks in a manner that is supported by Microsoft:
• Prepare Windows for duplication from one computer to another computer.
• Change security identifiers (SIDs) and other system and configuration settings to make them unique.
• Configure user-specific information to be customized by the end-user when Windows starts the first time.
• Create images of operating systems.
• Automate the Windows mini-Setup program.
• Perform auditing tasks.
