During my install of Microsoft XP, i got the following message:

A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.

*** STOP: 0x0000007B (0xG78D2524, 0xC0000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)

What does this mean?

BASICALLY...........it means that a piece of hardware is failing. It's pointless to get the exact codes and look them up and try and doing about it for the most part. I don't think I've ever solved a blue screen issue by looking up the codes.

Usually if it says like "Beginning physical memory dump" then the RAM is bad, or if overclocked, stressed too far and sometimes it will also happen as a result of the CPU being unstable.

Sometimes BSOD's will happen from the videocards inwhich it'll say like nv4.disp failed.

There's a program called memtest86+ that you should let run for 2-3 hours and see if it brings up any errors with your memory.

If it's not your memory then the HD could be bad or if you're overclocking, maybe the CPU is unstable.

Also, a crappy PSU can cause blue screens as well.

So basically you will have to do some trial and error testing before you can find the exact problem.
