lord brings up a good point, wat if ur monitor is not hd ready. haha. probably will be great for media center pcs.

yeah, i think is safe to assume that all monitors will be HD eventually, but the question is when........

Last I checked, monitors have been high resolution since before HDTV was even an abbreviation.

Follow-up: Yup, 2048x1536 is a lot higher than "1080p."

Or are they planning on sending encrypted signals to our monitors so we can't <gasp> record the content? If so, they can stuff their HD-DVD/Blu-ray nonsense.

I am alright for displaying 1080p then (7800gt and 2048*1536 monitor) but I will not be buy6ing either drives anytime soon.
