I purchased a new motherboard and after looking through the Manuel discovered that if double sided memory is used in both the DIMM slots the maximum speed is reduced from DDR 400 to DDR 333. I use a pair of 512 DDR 400 sticks that are double sided. If I use this motherboard with my memory and the memory speed is reduced to 333, how much of a performance hit would I take when playing games such as BF2?

Its because you have a socket 754 amd. It runs the sticks @ 166MHz. You can overclock the cpu but you'll need better cooling than stock.

It won't slow your games down that much as long as the timings stay tight. Try lowering the CAS to 2.
