CPU heatng up weird..

That seems very strange my 3200+ stays at 26 degress on idle and 32 degress on a full load. Mybe you should look into a different heatsink or if it is possible taking your processor back and get it replaced with a new one.

I think his CPU is an Athlon XP, not a 64
Athlon XP's normally run fairly hot. like said before, having the cooler mounted properly can make a significant drop in temperature. sometimes you need to adjust it just a bit, even if it looks right.

My secondary system has an AMD XP 2400+ (maybe its a 2600+... I never flippin remember). Anyways... It's on STOCK HSF, STOCK thermal paste, since I bought it like 3-4 years ago, and never get above 50-55c with full load on it.
