Pentium D problems

gahh driving me crazy
okthis prcessor should be flying unfortunatley its not i ran like 3

programs and it sucked up 100% of its usage already and

sometimes it will just reboot for no reason.

i cant update the bios which contains a cpu microcode update

just messes up everytime.

this is just unbeliveable this sytem should be flying

its not going thermal either stays at about 40 degree celcius

any help would be much appreciated!

mobo is a 8I865GME-775
cpu is a pentium d 805
memory is kingston hyper x
these things are all brand freaking new

I think you have a 865 chipset but need a 945 chipset to run dual core correctly.

agreed, without looking up that board the name seems to suggest it has an 865g chipset. no amount of BIOS flashes will help. you need a new motherboard

according to the support ticket i put in to gigabyte that this chipset can use a dual core processor correctly
