Unless it's your own, or you have public liability insurance, do not open them up for any reason.
It's not the risk of voiding a warranty that you have to worry about there.
For the price that a PSU is now days, I just replace them with my clients. It's not worth the risk. And my public liability insurance is high enough as is.
