Help me decide on the processor please

I have two processors on my mind currently, they are:

Pentium 4 Northwood 2.8B with Hyper-Threading and the Pentium 4 Prescott 2.8A but i still do not know which to pick

I will be buying my processors at the start of next year

Also, please recommend a good motherboard with a reasonable price tag that would suit the processor that you have recommended

I guess the prescott cpus aren't as good as they sound. I use a P4 Northwood 2.6GHz and I like it.

Both cpus you picked use socket 478. So here's a couple of mobos that i would recommend:

yea i also use a northwood 2.66

but since the northwood in that choice does not have HT, then i would go with the 2.8 with HT. THe prescott. My friend has a 3.2 with HT. Since u have a choice to enable it/disable, when he got it he forgot to enable it. I mean it was still fast and stuff. But when he enabled it, it was like 3 times as fast. Im just gonna guess on this but a 2.8 with HT, if u have it on it will probley be the same speed as a 3.0 without HT. It lets u run more programs at once and it also makes u run them faster.

yea those mobos look pretty good so it should be ur 2 choices. This is my opinion, but only go with ASUS. I love them and i would never go with any other motherboard.
