I'm building a computer and I know nothing about network cards. Could you guys recomend a card for accessing the internet with cable or dsl? I don't need anything fancy, nor do i need wireless. I just want something that will let me connect

I like the Realtek's 8139 card, widely supported also. Anything 3Com is also going to be widely supported.

Any network card will be exactly the same, as far as functionality.

A 10-year old card will work the same as a new one.

Are you sure that the motherboard doesnt have one integrated?

It has built-in ethernet, next to the USB ports.

Unless you're using dial-up, you dont need a PCI network adapter. Just save that extra PCI port when you get an insane video/audio card.
