Hi everyone. I want to build a new pc but have never done it and want your opinion on the parts that i have picked out from Newegg. Here is my list:

CPU: AMD Athlon 64 3200+ Venice 2000MHz HT Socket 939 Processor Model ADA3200BPBOX

Hard Drive: Seagate Barracuda 7200.9 ST3808110AS 80GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive

Floppy Drive: NEC Black 1.44MB 3.5" Internal Floppy Drive - OEM

Monitor: ENVISION EFT-720 Silver-Black 17" Pure Flat CRT Monitor D-Sub - Retail

I am planning on using my PC for general use aswell as some not too intense gaming and didn't want to spend a whole lot on it. Please let me know if you see any problems with my layout.
Thanks.

Decent gaming is usually better off with 1GB RAM, as well as if you're going to be doing any video or audio editing.

512MB is usually more associated with budget systems (Like mine! :D)

Also, you need to get a decent brand name PSU, or your whole system might go up in smoke.

Talldude, PLEASE don't suggest those PSU's. They are unconsistant, unpredictable, and most likely will die within months, possibly taking a few components to the graveyard with it.

Thanks for posting.

I have 256MB ram on this comp so i was going for more. Im thinking of cost so I will probly get more later.

I read reviews that said PSU sucked so thanks for comfirming that.

The cost of this is about $650 and i didn't want to go much higher than $700 for it.

That hard drive looks like a better buy, thanks talldude, and maybe ill look at cheeper RAM like that one.

This will help, thanks.

nforce4 ultra mobos cost just a bit more , and dual channel ram gives better performance then 1 stick

i suggest youll take this mobo/ram/case+psu , prices include shipping
