The main thing in Conroes that have over AMD's?

Sorry, 1am here, getting a little cranky, apologies.

I've seen a 2.13Ghz Conroe get to 2.9Ghz on stock volts and cooling. I assumed that a 1.86GHz Conroe would atleast be able to get 2.7Ghz or something around there. It will probably overclock higher, as there are few differences between the two processors as far as binning goes.

Do you guys think the release of Conroe's will make AMD reduce the prices on the X2 Athlons? I just built my system like 2 months ago so I'm stuck with it for awhile, but if X2 prices drop thats the next processor I'm buying.

Didn't think the max OC was a steady percent of the stock CPU clock
It's not. You can get two of the exact same CPUs and one might overclock 1ghz, and the other 200mhz. It's all the luck of the draw. Of course, you can make an educated guess of how a CPU will overclock based on previous results.
