I just download ATi's new vista beta 2 drivers and installed them. But im still haveing the same problem as before. All the colours are screwed up and i cant raise the resolution of the screen above 640x480 :s it looks terrible. Anyone had the same problem and know how to fix it?

Thanks

here is driver problem:

Those drivers are made for Vista Build 5384.4 which has not been released to the Pbulic yet. So if you are using that one....

There is no guarentee that these drivers will work on older versions of Vista since they are directed toward that build.

So same questions as before. Is your card a DX9 card? Is is supported?
Radeon® 9500, 9550, 9600, 9650, 9700, 9800, X300, X600, X700, X800, X850
Radeon® X1300, X1600, X1800, X1900 series
Mobility™ Radeon® 9550, 9600, 9700, 9800, X300, X600, X700, X800
Mobility™ Radeon® X1300, X1400, X1600, X1800
CrossFire™ Xpress 3200
Radeon® Xpress 200, 200M
FireGL™ V7350, V7300, V7100, V5100, V5000, V3200, V3100
Mobility™ FireGL® V5200, V5000, V3200, V3100
FireMV™ 2200 PCIE, FireMV™ 2400 PCIE

Is it on that list? If not then your card is not supported and most likely will not be able to take full advantage of what Vista has to offer.

Yes its in that list. (X700)
I have build 5381.1 installed. surely if it works for the newer build then it would for an older version. just wouldnt work if it was other way round.

edit: it is direct x9 supported
is that build going public then, so everyone can download it?
On ati's website it just says they are beta 2 drivers not for a specific build. 5381.1 is beta 2

thanks

5381.1 is not Beta 2. M$ has announced that the Public build of Vista is going to be Build 5384.4, just cause the desktop says Beta 2 doesnt mean anything. Every build since 5219 has siad it.

Everyone will be able to download the New Vista Build when M$ releases it to the Public. Right now only TAP, IT Professionals and MSDN can get it.

Also just cause the drivers are made for a newer build doesnt mean they will work for a older build. Things change from build to build. Hence why it is in Beta and not final.

DX9 doesn have to be supported. It haas to be a DX9 card. There is a difference. DX8 card can support DX9 but only cards that were made to DX9 standards can run Vista correctly.

Ok thanks. do you know when that is going to be released? my gfx card IS a DX9 card lol. I dont understand why it doesnt work though. Do you know what i can change to make it have enough resources? from the device manager it says theres not enough or sumthin and that screenshot says it.
