Doesn't matter if its a waste of money, it still costs $1000 and it can easily be compared. And if we're talking about cheaper overclocking, the Conroe can overclock to speeds that would make the world record-holding 3.8Ghz Dual Core Athlon 64 turn green(er) with envy.

As for the motherboards, they should cost as much as any of the other motherboards for other platforms. You always have the pick of low-end I-Just-Need-A-Motherboard motherbaords, the mid-end I-Want-A-Good-Motherboard, and the high-end I-Need-The-Best-Friggin-Motherboard-Out-There motherboards. You're bound to see motherboards from $50-$250.

why we are still comparing conroe to 64 is beyond me

everybody needs to get over the fact that AMD lost this round

we can start talking bout them again when new **** comes out

Whats so good about the AM2 chips?
DDR2 Support but you are paying extra for that from AMD and Intel already has this and to top it off the Conroe's are more powerfull and cheaper ("not common for Intel so enjoy it").
