help upgrading

i want to upgrade my cpu and was wondering if this one will do the job. the reason i want to upgrade is so that i can play oblivion better.
i plan on getting more ram next, will this chip work well with my mobo?

k8v-x mobo
2600 athlon chip
nvidia 6200 256k agp bfi
1gig ram

check if your mobos socket 754 (im too lazy) more ram would also help oblivion

does it matter that it says 800 MHz HyperTransport and that chip is 1600??

I'd double your memory to 2Gb, and that chip will run if your motherboard is Socket 754. Your video card is very weak, I'd suggest upgrading it to a 7600GS at the minimum. Remember you'll probably need a new power supply because your adding more powerful components.

7600GS is pci express is it not? i only have support for agp. is there a better agp card i can buy than the 6200
