I was wondering if this rig would work out nicely for gaming, and video editing, music mixing, and surfing.

k.......yeah dont get a barebone, the only difference is that you dont install the motherboard.boohoo. you'd save money doing it urself.

k here is what you wanna do.
first: keep the cpu and gpu
2nd: change ram to G.Skill 2x1GB Duall Channel Extreme PC4000 ( YES it is compatible with a mobo that says it only supports up to PC3200, you will learn more as you read about overclocking, which you will have to without a doubt in a few months)
3rd:Change hard drive to a Western Digital Caviar
4th:Dont get a mobo thats sli, its a waste of money, preferably, since you will have to OC, get the MSi K8n Neo4-f
5th:NEC 3550A Optical drive
6th: PSU can be any of the good brands, preferablly an Antec TruePower, or SmartPower, or OCZ PowerStream, or ModStream, or Enermax Liberty
7th: Pik a case that you like, but check it out with us first.

I agree with john 3 on almost everything he has stated except as for Antec psu go with the TruePower over the SmartPower; OCZ, Fortran, and Enermax are all good.

I agree: Pick your own case.

As for your motherboard I think I would go for an ASUS or an EPoX 9NPA+Ultra (great board). I've read a number of issues with MSI but john 3 knows more than I do if he has suggested it.

Unless you are doing SLi don't get a SLi mobo. It is a waste of money and even if you do get SLi the performance upgrade is not that great.
