The other thing to concider is if his only copy is OEM.... The EULA states you can only have that copy on "THAT" pc Meaning you are not even aloud to install it on another PC if that one bite's it!! MS already has everything in place to enforce this. After you update and activate the copy then change some hardware it will make you activate it again and more than likely you will have to call them and phone activate it. So far as long as you say you are using it on only one PC they will activate it, But all it will take is for them to change this policy and like the updated EULA states is if you make significant hardware changes you will need to purchase another licence. All this does is turn honest people into pirate's.
