hows this for $300?

considering the reviews, yes, i'd say they're great, but is this any good for a cpumobo combo? i don't do AMD, so dunno how to estimate
 
It's basically as budget as you get, but it's a good value I guess. I think you'd be better off spending an additional $100-$150 and going for the Opteron 144 (+$50), the DFI Lanpary Nforce 4 Ultra-D (+$25) and some G. Skill memory (+$50).

But if that's your budget, then that's your budget. Just remember that with that memory, the AS5 may be useless unless you run RAM dividers, because that current setup certainly isn't an OCing one. Even then, your motherboard may hold you back.
 
Doesn't matter I wasn't planning to OC anyway, but I will think about your suggestions. I might just change my mind.
