What about for non-gaming though? I don't plan on gaming much until I build my new system this summer which will have a way better vid card. I just need a new monitor right now cause my crt is dying on me.

The video card can handle the monitor no problem at all, Its the games and aplications that it won't be able to handle then look bad or laggy. Every thing you could do before you can still do but of cource it will look alot better.
