upgrade to AMD Athlon 64 FX-55

Hey, i just bought a cheap system that "fell off the truck" the only reason i bought it is cuz i only paid $200 for it and it came with 2 250 gb hard drives 19" monitor and 2 gig of ram. but the its a shitty integrated motherboad with a celeron 3 GHz processor. Can i pick up a new motherboard and slap a AMD Athlon 64 FX-55 in there with out any problems? what mother board would you suggest?

Need to know first is this DDR or DDR 2?

Sure its easy you just get a new mobo, the chip, a video card and you'r all set.......

um id fetch you a nice mobo too but its like 4am here now and im lazy, look around with search or something for amd builds that other people built here....... you could take ideas from them.

its a shady deal.

sure there would be no problem if the board is using DDR ram not DDR2 and the psu isn't proprietary.

how do i find out if it is ddr or ddr2? and can you please explain the "psu isn't proprietary." thanks for your patients, im not the most advanced in this subject.
