convert file to .doc

I have a rtf file i want to covert to .doc in word. I went to tool bar, options. general tap. selected the convert at opening . I opened the document and there is no .doc file selection.

did you try to right click on the file, go to rename and rename the file using the .doc extension.

if you rename a file extension it doesn't convert it to another format. grapeape open your RTF in MS Word. select "save as". in the "save as type" box choose "word document". type your filename and click ok to save it.

goto the folder where you saved it and make sure the file was saved correctly. if it is ok, you can delete your RTF file now.
