Ye old DMI verification hang...

Im having the problem where when i start the comp it gets to "Verifying DMI Pool Data" and then stops. I have narrowed the cause down to the HD as everything works fine when i use another one, but the HD still works perfectly as a slave. I have run chkdsk on it to try ad get rid of any corruption but it made no difference. Any ideas? :sigh:

What's your first boot device? I had my first boot device on CD-ROM, and after I switched to Harddisk as my first boot..I don't even see the DMI screen anymore. All I see is BIOS - Loading - Desktop.

i switched it from floppy to HD but it made no difference

if that hdd is your boot drive then my guess is the operating system on it is corrupt. if the computer doesn't see any bootable drive it will hang at this screen.
