It's not his fault that he hasn't backed up his hard drive because unfortunateley having an old PC such as his makes it nearly impossible. Besides. What is he going back it up with?
Anyway, i have a problem remarkably similar. And when it comes to fixing them, "Norton Systemworks" is the best chance you have.
