is artic silver worth it?

it just does. it as different chemical/physical properties. there are some compouds which are supposedly better than AS5 though

I recently bought AS5. i was on my stock thermalpaste some white crud. And my temps where 55-65c IDLE!!!! and full load like 66-68c and my pc would just lock up. Now i idle at 35-40c, and full load about 50-53c

You can expect 5%-10% drop in temperatures if applied properly.

if you read any of arctic silver's documentation or even a syringe of AS5 you will notice the phrase "polysynthetic silver". it is a compound designed to have similar thermal conductivity to silver, minus the electrical conductivity.
